The breach made certain ... things apparent, but the path of fate between us leads to hate. Cloud believes it won't go that way, but he is from my past and I am from his future. Even if I wished for things to be different, time will catch up and it will destroy him.

Obviously, but what do others normally do in these situations ....

They do what they think will help them get closer to their goal. If your goal is to screw destiny and get closer to Cloud, then you spend time with him, you enjoy his company, and you tell him that you want to be close to him.
