Iris, unless you said "hi there John, please do a spiteful little revenge killing for me," there is absolutely no need to apologize.

I didn't do that. I did know he'd go over the top when someone he cared about got killed, but I think it's going to take some time to get him to see things differently and I can't see a way I could have got in front of it, not really. Not in that flood.
