"The world's most boring pasta," Dorian grins. "I'm spicing up the sauce—I'm certainly not the sort to make tomato sauce from scratch, but I at least know how to elevate it."
He reaches around and drops something in Dorian's pocket, kissing his neck. It's a small, pinkish rock that looks, at first glance, like just a pretty stone. But Pagan can recongize a raw ruby when he sees it.
"Then it was lovely of you to invite me," he teases.
Dorian can feel something slipped in his pocket. However, he doesn't mention it right now. Time for kisses instead. He adjusts his position so that Pagan can get easier access on his neck.
"You're always welcome in my room and my life—and for my dinner, of course."
"We'll go on our grand adventures during ports where there's more of an opportunity for him to cause trouble. But here? The worst that can happen is he gets eaten by a fucking worm—and really, if that happens, he deserves it."
"I'm the best warden!" Dorian chirps, as he reaches into his pocket. As he looks at the ruby, his eyes sparkle with excitement. Dorian can also recognize a raw ruby when he sees it and looks over at his boyfriend with a smile of pure adoration.
"Now we really need the Admiral to get his shit together and take us to a proper city. I want this cleaned up and set in a ring."
"I knew you would. And if he keeps taking us to shit ports, we'll do it when we get home, hm?"
He slides an arm around his waist. "Thought it might be part of your wedding band. But! Speaking of that, I had quite the conversation with Norton the other day."
"Obviously he's invited to the wedding we're definitely going to have," Dorian points out, with a little shrug, very poorly hiding the little smile on his face at the idea of an eventual wedding. "As is Trixie. I'm honestly tempted to invite Johann solely because I know he'd loathe the idea."
He wrinkles his nose. "It's supposed to be a cheerful affair," he reminds him. "And Trixie is in the wedding party. As tempted as I am to keep her out since she kept me out."
"I know! But don't doubt my ability to Henry Higgens that man into a proper human being."
Or at least one that doesn't default to stabbing. Dorian knows that if there's any occasion where Johann has to be slightly fancy, he'll bitch about it no matter what.
"And don't worry about Trixie. Honestly, I don't blame her for eloping. In between her and Kiryu, half the fucking Barge would be pushing to be involved. They're too well-liked for their own good."
As Dorian talks, he starts counting off on his fingers. "Our guest list so far is Trixie, Kiryu, Lark, Norton, Johann, Misty—and if Misty's coming, we should probably add Natalie to the list as well."
This is indeed turning into a fucking Barge affair. Dorian looks at his fingers, sighs, then says, "Jon will want to come—ah, Archivist Jon, though I suspect Eldritch John would want an invite also and I like him enough that I'd want him there. I don't think he's ever been to a wedding before. And if he's coming, then Arthur is."

"Darling, I have something for you!" he sings out.

Dorian's in the kitchen, actually cooking for once? What the hell. Who knew he could actually cook!

"It is not drugs, though it certainly could be if you wanted it."
He kisses his cheek. "Mm, what are you making?"

Because that's exactly what he and Misty went through.

He's just saying!

"I think I gave him a bit of a shock when I mentioned I was trying monogamy."

He laughs, taking down two glasses for drinks.
"But I did invite him to any eventual wedding we might have. And forbid him from wearing sequins."

He sighs. "Kaz and Lark are coming, too. And you'll keep your fucking mouth shut about it."
He leans against him.

No comment on Lark, though. Pagan knows how he feels.

He groans. "This is turning into a fucking Barge affair. At least we'll be on our own goddamn beach."

That's ten people already.
"Christ, we're popular."

He closes his eyes. "Wedding by ourselves. Reception with other people. Deal?"
