But this is a small ship. I can tolerate my friends' friends even if I don't like the person to begin with.

I've got a few reasons. I personally find him obnoxious, I don't like how he tries to continuously psychoanalyze Johann, and he's tiring.

But again: I can put a damper on my complaining when we hang out. Lord knows there are plenty of other people on this ship to complain about.

Bright? I'd say you aren't. I never got the impression that he's one of the people to worry about. Really, I suspect you'll have a hard time getting rid of him over anything else.
