[There are several people who deserve personal apologies after his stint at camp. Once Jon's spent a few days getting his paranoia at least a little more under control and feeding on Statements to get back to some semblance of mental stability, he messages Dorian. The man might be a monster, but Jon knows he'd been out of line now.]
I shouldn't have spoken to you like I did at that camp. You were right and you didn't deserve it. Sorry.
It isn't. But I suppose I'll have to accept that. Was that paranoia due to a lack of Eye contact, or is it a fun new trait that you've developed when I was gone?
I've always had issues with paranoia. But the loss of the Eye hit me in a particularly bad way. They're easier to keep under control when I can Know things. Or when I know I can compel someone to answer my questions honestly.
I'm not... right, yet. Better, but going that long cut off, without feeding, isn't healthy for me. I expect Elias is in much the same way, even if he handles it better.
And I'll probably be just as bad then. It's not like I can just make myself not be paranoid. I'll try to remember to avoid you if I get like that again.
I owe you a date, if you still want it. I thought we could do a bit of a ghost tour around the city. End with a picnic at the edge of the forest. Bottle of wine. See if any headless men in carriage come round to murder us.
Things about Jonathan Sims that I think are cute: 1. your dogged determination (but only when it doesn't inconvenience me) 2. the way you blush when I call you cute 3. you can get a little sheepish when you think nobody's looking 4. that thing you do with your hair
[ Dorian is going to just feel inwardly smug the moment he sees Jon with those clips. Yeah, for all that 'I don't like you,' he can tell you at least listen to him and consider what he's talking about buddy ]

Sorry.

Is it really so fucking hard to believe that I have your best interests at heart?

When I'm not thinking straight because of paranoia?
Yes.
I was lashing out at everyone, not just you, if it's any consolation.

But I suppose I'll have to accept that.

And I'm serious about that. I've been ghost hunting before, might as well do it again.
no subject
I thought you might enjoy it.
[He feels bad enough about camp that he is trying.]

[ there's a solid minute pause before Dorian sends, ]
It's cute that you care about me.
no subject
Nothing about me is cute.
I'm going to buy bad wine if you insinuate otherwise again.

1. your dogged determination (but only when it doesn't inconvenience me)
2. the way you blush when I call you cute
3. you can get a little sheepish when you think nobody's looking
4. that thing you do with your hair
no subject
What thing?
I don't do anything with my hair.
no subject
That thing.
no subject
Everyone does that.
[Right?]
I don't do that.
[Maybe he needs to cut his hair. Something more professional like Peter has. Or clips. He can put clips in his hair.]

I got my ears pierced.
That's 'metal.'
[Or so he's been assured. Dorian may or may not have noticed them at camp with Jon's hair all over the place. They're little book-shaped gold studs.]
no subject
Plenty of men get their ears pierced these days.
That's nothing special.
no subject
I've got other things pierced, as well.
Wouldn't you like to know what?
no subject
no subject
[Yes, yes he is going to insinuate an intimate piercing. Suburban housewife... tch!]
no subject
We've had that kind of date before.
no subject
We haven't had a 'date,' at all, unless you count me getting drunk on your couch as date-worthy.
no subject
no subject
And I believe customs dictate you wouldn't be getting even a kiss until the third date.
