I'll have a drink later. First, I want to know who died? Or metaphorically died, this is obviously a Pagan pity party and I didn't get the who, what, and when.

[He holds up a glass and downs it.]

[He laughs, standing up to pour himself another drink.]

Let me have my crisis in peace, Dorian. I don't have the luxury of living forever.

If you wanted to have your crisis in peace, you made a poor fucking choice in inviting me over, [ he points out, like it's the most obvious thing in the world. ] I'm the opposite of a nice night in.

[He returns to the couch and gingerly sits down beside him again.]

[ When Pagan sits down, Dorian adjusts his position so that he can wrap an arm around the man's shoulders, pulling himself in for a cuddle. ]

[He crosses his legs, leaning into that touch as best he can.]

Just the casual acknowledgement of what I have so desperately been trying to keep quiet. I was just fine thinking that I would be alone after this. Going back to my island.

[brushoff]

Bullshit, [ Dorian idly says, as he moves his other hand to rub small circles on Pagan's thigh. ]

I'm going back to the island with you, remember? Why would I let you enjoy it by yourself?

[Pagan gives him a look.]

You're going back with me to do what, Dorian?

[brushoff]

Go to your island.

[ There's a pause before Dorian admits, ]

What else would I do?

[crab_rangoon]

[He stares at his glass, feeling the world tilt delightfully. It numbs him a little.]

Have a fucking exciting life with someone who deserves you.

[brushoff]

That's what I'd do if I went to your island, [ Dorian says. The 'you dipshit' isn't stated, but it's heavily implied. ]

[That startles him into silence. Well, at least for a moment. Pagan's never silent for very long.]

[brushoff]

Because, and I know you may find this very hard to believe, I like you. I enjoy your company. I want to see you graduate your shitty little gremlin of an inmate and then leave this place for good.

[He flips him off as he takes a drink.]

It's not as bad as it was. Talked with Kiryu. Made this better even if I fucking feel worse. And for what? For a godamn flood that doesn't even matter.

[brushoff]

A goddamn flood that's probably the Admiral's idea of therapy, [ Dorian dryly responds. ]

This entire thing is a bit ridiculous.

Of course it is. [He won't speak badly about the Admiral, but he will agree that his terrible driving is awful.]

Now. Are you going to drink?

[brushoff]

[He stands up and refills his own glass before handing one to Dorian.]

Oh, I'm not going to fully catch up to you tonight, [ Dorian laughs, looking at Pagan, before knocking back a good portion of his drink. ]
